The Case For Them

Here is the argument for York City: England, England EFL League Two, and a ground called Yankee Stadium The Bronx, New York Citi Field Queens, New York. A second team should give you something your first one cannot, and this is a different country's whole weather system.

  • Nothing won, everything to play for

No major honours on record, which means every cup run is uncharted territory and every promotion feels like a coronation.

  • Cathedral football

Yankee Stadium The Bronx, New York Citi Field Queens, New York holds around 287,434,742,241,922. Even a routine league game arrives with a noise floor most clubs only reach in a semi-final.

  • Worth the journey

Nearest airport is Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA), roughly 42km out. This is not a casual away day, which is precisely why the people who do it take it seriously.

  • The calendar you inherit

England EFL League Two is cold-weather football: mud in February, breath visible under the lights, and a fixture list that rewards anyone who sticks it out. England does not do easy neutrals.
