Adopting União de Leiria means Portugal LigaPro results start mattering to you, a club going since 1966. Not a novelty, a habit.

Worth the journey
Nearest airport is Lisbon Humberto Delgado Airport (LIS), roughly 111km out. This is not a casual away day, which is precisely why the people who do it take it seriously.
The calendar you inherit
Following Portugal LigaPro means odd kick-off hours, a new commentary language and a table you will check before your own club's. Portugal becomes part of your week.
Modern era club
Formed in 1966, so the whole story is documented, arguable and still being written. Join now and you were basically there from the start.
Something to defend
The cabinet is not empty: Segunda Divisão/Liga Portugal 2: 1980–81, 1997–98 and Liga 3: 2022–23. Small enough to recite from memory, big enough to argue about in a pub.

Ground: Estádio Dr. Magalhães Pessoa. Go in a day early, find the pre-match pub, buy the programme.
