Nickname: The Urchins

Adopting AFC Hornchurch means England National League results start mattering to you, a club going since 2005. Not a novelty, a habit.

You get a nickname
Known as The Urchins. That is your new shorthand, your search term and your excuse for buying a scarf.
Easy weekend
London City Airport (LCY) is about 14km from the ground, and Upminster Bridge tube station is 0km closer still. A home fixture is a genuinely doable two-night trip.
The calendar you inherit
England National League is cold-weather football: mud in February, breath visible under the lights, and a fixture list that rewards anyone who sticks it out. England does not do easy neutrals.
Ground floor
Founded in 2005. There is no dynasty to inherit and no bandwagon to be accused of joining, this is a club whose history you can genuinely watch happen.

Ground: Hornchurch Stadium, Upminster. Go in a day early, find the pre-match pub, buy the programme.
